Oren Dean "Pete" Perdue, 67, of 2495 Moody Ridge Road, Vincent, died June 20, 2008, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Parkersburg.

He was born Dec. 15, 1940, in Belpre, a son of Hazel Geneva Wentz Perdue Wilson and the late Calvin Harding Perdue. He was a 1958 graduate of Vincent High School. He had worked at Globe International/Interlake Steel for 24 years. He had owned Perdue's Drive Thru in Parkersburg for 11 years. He was a member of the Barlow Coon Hunters Association and the Barnett Ridge Church of Christ. He loved dogs, horses, cars, motorcycles and playing pool.

Pete is survived by his mother of Barlow; his wife, Phyllis Cremeans Perdue, whom he married on Nov. 20, 1965; two daughters, Paula Dee Murray (Mike) of Cambridge and Michelle Leigh Perdue of Vincent; a special family friend, Cindy Burton, and boys; three grandchildren, Tyler Dean and Shylah Louise Sprigg and Stephanie Murray; three siblings, Calvin Clifton Perdue (Sue) of Barlow, Sharon Cunningham of Fleming and Philip Perdue (Judy) of Veto; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father and a sister, Beverly Jean Arnold.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Barlow Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home with Wilbur Antill and Dave Holdren officiating. Burial will be in Gravel Bank Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Donations may be made to St. Jude Tribute Program, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tenn. 38105. Pete's family would like to thank Dr. Kelli Cawley and her staff at Strecker Cancer Center and her office at St. Joe's.
