Mrs. Mary Loehr Dies Suddenly. Husband Summoned Home from Board Meet to Find Wife Dead. Was Beloved Resident.

Mrs. Mary Loehr, aged 60 years, wife of Peter Loehr, chairman of the Town of Forest, and a well known and highly esteemed resident of the county, died suddenly at 8:40 p.m. Wednesday at the family home in Forest. Mrs. Loehr had been ailing for the past five years, but her death came very unexpectedly. Mr. Loehr was attending a meeting of the county board in this city when summoned to his wife's sick bed, but Mrs. Loehr died before he reached home. Mrs. Loehr resided in Forest for 50 years. She was married to Peter Loehr in 1886. Besides a widower, the deceased is survived by seven children, Mrs. George Basler and Mrs. L.N. Goebel, Forest; Mrs. Jacob Ott, Peebles; Henry, Louis and Anthony Loehr, Forest, and Albert Loehr, St. Joe; 17 grandchildren, and four brothers, Matt and John Diedrich, Michigan; Peter, Wahpeton, N.D., and Joseph, Forest. Mrs. Loehr was a fine Christian woman and was loved and admired by all who knew her. Her death comes as a shock to the community. She was a member of the Altar society of St. Michael's church, Dotyville. The funeral will be held at 9:15 a.m. Saturday from the residence and at 10 from St. Michael's church. The Rev. C.J. Mrs. Mary Loehr, aged 60 wife of Peter Loehr, chairman of the town of Forest and a member of the county board, died suddenly at 8:40 o'clock last night at the family residence in Forest. She was well known and one of the most highly respected women of the township. She had been in failing health for a period of five years; however her death was a great shock to the members of her family and her many friends. She had been a resident of Forest for over fifty years. Mr. and Mrs. Loehr were married in 1886. She leaves her husband, three daughters, Mrs. George Basler, and Mrs. L.M. Goebel, of the town of Forest; Mrs. Jacob Otto, of Peebles; four sons, Henry, Louis and Anthony of Forest and Albert, of St. Joe. There are seventeen grandchildren, four brothers, Math and John Diedrich, of Michigamme, Mich., Peter, of Wahpeton, N. D., Joseph of Forest. Mrs. Loehr was a devout member of St. Michael's church at Dotyville and an active member of the Altar society of that church. The funeral will be held at 9:15 o'clock Saturday morning at the residence and at 10 o'clock at St. Michael's church, Rev. C.J. Bier officiating. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery. The funeral of Mrs. Mary Loehr was held at 9:15 a.m. today from the residence in the Town of Forest, and at 10 a.m. from St. Michael's church at Dotyville. The Rev. C.J. Bier had charge of the service and the Rev. Kremer of Mayville, former pastor, delivered the sermon. Burial took place in the adjoining cemetery. The pallbearers were Matt, John, Joseph and Peter Diedrich and John and Michael Loehr. Those from away who attended the funeral were Matt and John Diedrich and Mrs. Clarence Murray of Michigamme, Mich., and Mr. and Mrs. Peter Diedrich of Wahpeton, N.D.
