Franklyn M. Whitney of Vancouver, Washington, passed away on October 3, 2010 at the age of 87. He was born in Portland, Oregon to Franklin and May Whitney.

Frank received his B.S. in Industrial Engineering at OSU in Oregon State.

He later retired from the U.S. Army Reserves with the rank of Major. Frank helped start the Cupples Paper Bag Co. in Clackamas, Oregon and was the vice president when he retired in 1987.

He liked flying, golf and traveling.

Frank is survived by his wife of 28 years, Margaret; sons, Gary and Mark Whitney; step-son, John Hopp; and step-daughters, Lori Taylor and Jeanne Galego; and 14 grandchildren.

The family held a private service at Lincoln Memorial in Portland, Oregon and there was a Celebration of Life at the Fairway Village Golf Course Clubhouse, Vancouver, Washington on Saturday, October 16th, 2010.
