Relative of local man dies Sunday
..Mr. and Mrs. George W. Fergu-
son of this city and Mr. and Mrs.
B. M. Ferguson of Chicago attend-
ed the funeral of Mrs. Tirzah Van-
atta at Rensselaer Tuesday. Mrs.
Vanatta was an aunt of the two
Mr. Fergusons.
..Mrs. Vanatta was a former resi-
dent of Valparaiso, having resided
here in 1872-1881. Mr. Vanatta was
a harness maker with a shop
where Barthelomew's funeral chapel
now stands.
..Mrs. Vanatta was around 85 years
of age. She died as the result of a
fractured hip suffered in a fall
about a week ago. Death occurred
at the home of her son, former
Judge Vanatta in Marion, Ind.
Her husband preceded her in death
by several years.
