Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2010, at Autry Funeral Home, Jacksonville, with the Rev. Ron Hart and the Rev. Randy Anderson officiating. Interment will follow in Resthaven Cemetery.
Beulah was born on May 18, 1922, in Troup to the late Wiley and Emma Martin.
She was a member of Lookout Valley Church of the Nazarene where she faithfully attended and served her Lord. Many lives were inspired by her Christian example and love for everyone.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Burchie Alexander, son, Melvin Alexander, brothers, Fonzie, Hub and Leon Martin, and sister, Lela Mae Scruggs.
Beulah is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Nelda and Mack McCaig of Jacksonville; daughter-in-law, Carolyn Alexander of Jacksonville; grandchildren, Kim Neal and husband Jim of Nashville, Tenn., Leigh Anne Largent and husband Patrick of Lufkin; Jason Grubbs and wife Debi, Scott Alexander and wife Cindy, Brandon McCaig and wife Tosha, all of Jacksonville; great-grandchildren, Jeremy Hinton, Dustin and Braden Alexander, and Justin and Jacob Largent.
Other survivors are sisters, Lottie Spraggins and husband Otis and Nellie Grimes. She also leaves behind nieces, nephews and host of friends she considered all of her family.
She loved her family so much and enjoyed every minute with them. Her great-grandsons were so very special to her and she looked forward to seeing them.
Pallbearers will be her loving grandsons and great-grandsons, Jason Grubbs, Scott Alexander, Brandon McCaig, Patrick Largent, Justin Largent and Dustin Alexander.
Honorary pallbearers will be great-grandsons, Jeremy Hinton, Jacob Largent, Braden Alexander and nephews, Rock Spraggins, Nolan Scruggs, Jerry Scruggs, Danny Grimes and Sammy Grimes.
The family would like to give a special thanks to all the ones who gave mother so much loving care: Dr. James Low and his wonderful staff and also Hospice of East Texas who were so wonderful to her in the final weeks of her life.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct, 5, 2010, at Autry Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of East Texas, 4111 University Blvd., Tyler, 75701.
