Cause of death: Crushed by rail cars near Buffalo, Cass county, North Dakota. Taken to Valley City, ND where he passed away

Harvey, Leroy John

Jack Harvey died at Buffalo, Dakota, Friday morning. He was conscious to the last, and his last goodbye to his father and mother was peculiarly aflecting. The accident happened in the night as he was descending from a freight car to the caboose. He somehow lost his hold, and fell to the track, the wheels of the rear car passing over him. His left leg was taken off at the ankle and his left arm at the wrist. His right leg was broken below the knee, and his head badly bruised. No one seems to have been to blame for the accident. His body was brought home and laid away to rest in the Charles City Cemetery. Peaceful be his sleep.
