Mr. Obediah Hurd, one of the oldest and most prominent citizens of the Figsboro neighborhood, this county, died at his home near Figsboro on Sunday and was buried yesterday. Mr. Hurd was in the 78th year of his age and has been sick for several weeks.
He leaves twelve children, seven sons and five daughters. One of the sons is Mr. W. S. Heard of Danville, and one of the daughters is Mrs. E. J. Davis of Martinsville.
