Roscoe J. Berry passed away Aug. 21, 2007, in Bellingham. He was born April 4, 1919, in Port Gamble, Wash., to James and Winifred Berry. He moved with his family to Coupeville in 1923. Growing up he excelled in sports, especially baseball and basketball. After graduating from Coupeville in 1937 he went to the University of Washington until illness forced him to drop out. He worked for Boeing until he was drafted into the Army.
In 1942 he married his high school sweetheart, Isabelle Fisher. He and Isabelle enjoyed spending time at their beach cabin in Coupeville, fishing, boating and traveling in their RV. For the last 27 years, they have spent six months in Mesa. Ariz., playing gold and making many friends from across the U.S. and Canada.
He leaves his wife of 65 years, Isabelle; two daughters, Camille (Dick) Moreau and Rosilyn (Shane) Spray; granddaughters, Renee (Russ) Dodds and Michelle Rhone (finace Scott Wemp) step grandchildren, Erin (Dean) Klinger, Mara Spray, Rich (Connie) Moreau, Mike, Deanna Moreau and April (Joe) Rollog; and great-grandchildren, Syvanna Moreau, Josh Klinger, Christine and Tanner Rollog.
He was preceded in death by great granddaughter Lacey Klinger.
