Curtis I. Besecker, 55, of Blue Ridge Summit, died at 2:45 a.m. on Sunday, August 2, 1987, in the VA Medical Center, Martinsburg, W.Va. He had been seriously ill for the last five months and had entered the VA Center two weeks ago.
He was born Sept. 15, 1931, in Quincy, the son of Mrs. Frances L. Stoops Besecker, a resident of the Franklin County Nursing Home, Chambersburg, and the late Harry I. Besecker.
He was a lifelong resident of the are and was a 1950 graduate of Quincy High School.
He was employed by Grove Mfg. Co.
During the Korean War, her served with the U.S. Army for four years.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by three sisters; Mrs. Maxine Mentzer, Mrs. Lois Rosenberry and Mrs. Dorothy Harmon, all of Waynesboro. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, in the Snyder Funeral Home, with the Rev. Keith D. Tomlinson officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Quincy.
