Peters, 1926, page 118, states she married James at the home of her parents by the Reverend George French. After their marriage, they located on a farm in Liberty Township, near Dukay. In 1876 they moved to a farm purchased in Henry Township three miles northwest of North Baltimore. She was a woman of unusual encouragement, determination and persistence. Her efficiency in the bringing up of her children was remarkable. She had a charming disposition and was liked by everybody. They were the parents of five children. She spent all of her life in Henry Twonship, but for one year when the family lived in Knox County, Missouri.
After the death of her husband in 1892, she rented their farm to her son David L. and purchased a comfortable home on West Walnut Street in North Baltimore, where she resided until her death, which was caused a stroke of apoplexy. She was 74 years, 4 months and 8 days old.
