Elden ElRoy McGee was born to Alvin McGee and wife Margaret E. Johnson McGee. His WWI Draft Registration card says he was single on June 5, 1917. He married Elsie Wright on February 5, 1920 at Caldwell, Canyon County, Idaho. They had one child, a daughter named Fern who was born in 1922. Elden's death was listed as a suicide by gunshot wound, as stated on his Certificate of Death. His obituary though, says that whether it was a suicide or an accident will probably never be known, but those close to Elden say that they are satisfied that it was an accident, and would never think of taking his own life. He had been cleaning his gun at the time.
