Grave side services were held March 21, at Catching Creek Cemetery for Bevie Merle Lakey Ward of Myrtle Point who died March 18, in Coos Bay. She was 84. Larry Martindale officiated.
She was born June 23, 1903 in Idaho. She has lived in Coos County since she was a young girl. She and Earl were married December 31, 1927.
She is survived by husband Earl Ward of Myrtle Point; daughter and son-in-law Donna and Elmo Shepherd of Myrtle Point; grandsons, Ross Shepherd of Myrtle Point; Gary Shepherd of Lorane; great-grandsons, Linn and Devon of Coos Bay; Zane and Tadd of Lorane; sisters, Bertha Centers, Garnet Morris and Madge Spencer of Myrtle Point; Dick Lakey of Coos Bay; Tom Lakey of Terrebonne; and Marion Lakey of Myrtle Point.
Those who wish may make contributions to the American Cancer Society. Services were under the direction of Ambling/Schroeder Funeral Service in Myrtle Point.
