She was born June 23, 1903 in Idaho. She has lived in Coos County since she was a young girl. She and Earl were married December 31, 1927.

She is survived by husband Earl Ward of Myrtle Point; daughter and son-in-law Donna and Elmo Shepherd of Myrtle Point; grandsons, Ross Shepherd of Myrtle Point; Gary Shepherd of Lorane; great-grandsons, Linn and Devon of Coos Bay; Zane and Tadd of Lorane; sisters, Bertha Centers, Garnet Morris and Madge Spencer of Myrtle Point; Dick Lakey of Coos Bay; Tom Lakey of Terrebonne; and Marion Lakey of Myrtle Point.

Those who wish may make contributions to the American Cancer Society. Services were under the direction of Ambling/Schroeder Funeral Service in Myrtle Point.
