Noted Business Magnate. A figure out of Old West history, he ran several stage coach companies before the railroads expanded, and sold them to Wells Fargo in the mid-1860s for $1.5 Million. He then formed the Northern Pacific Transportation Company, a steamboat line that covered the West Coast to Mexico.
Northeast Holladay Street in Portland, Oregon (where he is buried) is named after him.
