Mrs.Lulu M. Grindle, 78 died at Sullivan Nursing Home Monday after a long illness.
She was the widow of Herbert W. Grindle, formerly of Blue Hill. She was born at West Franklin, July 7 1879, daughter of the late Sabin & Josephine (Ulmer) Hardison.
She was a member of the Ellsworth Methodist Church & the WSCS of Ellsworth.
She is survived by three sons, Joshua Grindle of Quincy, Mass., Herbert O Grindle of Cheyanne, Wyo. and Charles M.Of Truro, Mass; ten daughters, Mrs. June Awalt of Surry, Mrs Grace Prentice of Natick, Mass., Mrs Hazel Beane of Ellsworth, Mrs. Bertha Carter of North Sedgwick, Mrs. Anne Seaver of Orlando,Fl, Mrs Marguerite Sahagian of San Jose, Calif., Mrs Betsey Fuller, Jamaica Plains, Mass., Mrs Ida Higgins of Brewer, Mrs Mabel Revord, Norfolk, Va., and Mrs Eva Saunders of Surry, three sisters, Mrs.Nina Colson of Franklin, Mrs.Emily Hammond of Somerville, Mass., and Mrs Laura Sargent of Sorrento, two brothers, John M. Hardison of Bangor, & Charles O Hardison of Ellsworth, 29 Grandchildren, 10 Greatgrandchildren and several nieces & nephews.
