Edward came to Iowa with his parents as a boy, locating on a farm near Tama. Later they moved to Blairsburg. In 1900, he married Miss Mary Ellen Hall. His wife died in 1905. He was also preceded in death by two daughters, three brothers and four sisters. He was a teamster and stonemason by trade. He leaves three children, Percy, Alfred, and Mrs. George Johnson; 15 grandchildren, one great grandchild and a brother, Frank, who lives in California.
