COOKEVILLE Funeral services for Edna V. Flatt Brown, 85, of Cookeville will be held Sunday, June 3, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Whitson Funeral Home. Burial will be in Cookeville Cemetery. Family will receive friends Saturday, June 2, from 39 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Brown died Wednesday, May 30, 2007, in Smyrna.

She was born Aug. 24, 1921, in Jackson County to the late James Harvey and Lura Stout Flatt.

Mrs. Brown was a homemaker and was a member of Sycamore Church of Christ.

Her family includes two sons and daughters-in-law, Harold Ralph and Shirley Brown of Symrna and John Wayne and Linda Lee Brown of Cookeville; his daughter, Myra B. Mainord of Cookeville; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Winfred Flatt and Ernest and Jean Flatt, all of Gainesboro; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Mayzelle and Boon Hunter and Bunie and Ray Stafford, all of Gainesboro; three sisters-in-law, Emma Flatt of Hendersonville and Kathleen and Mary Helen Flatt, both of Gainesboro; seven grandchildren and seven great grand children.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her husband, Harold L. Brown; her son, Reginald D. (Reggie) Brown; three brothers, Garner, James and Bernice Flatt; and her grandson, Daniel M. Mainord.
