Charles Robert "Bob" Bell, Sr., 74, of Salina, Oklahoma, died on January 15th,
2008.
Bob was born in San Angelo, Texas on October 30th, 1933, to Ernest and Nona Bell of Austin, Texas.
He graduated from Odessa College in 1954.
He married Newtlene "Newty" Robinson, Saturday, November 6, 1954, in Carlsbad, N.M. and they raised three sons in Odessa. He was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church in Odessa, Texas.
Above all he loved his family and was a devoted father, faithful husband, and loving grandfather. He led an exemplary life, devoted to helping others.
Bob Bell was Cub Master of Cub Scout Pack 5 met at Sam Houston Elementary School from 1964-1967.
He then became Scout Master of Troop 74. All three of his sons were members and his oldest son became an Eagle Scout in 1971.
He worked and retired for El Paso Products from 1962 until 1990 when he moved to Salina, Oklahoma with his wife, son Russell, and two grandsons, Jeffrey and Travis. There, Bob and Newty enjoyed their home, fishing, the outdoors,
gardening, and helping raise their grandsons.
Bob was an avid outdoorsman with many interests including wood working, stamp collecting, reading, and cooking.
He is survived by his three sons, Charles Robert Bell, Jr., Russell Clark Bell, James Perry Bell and wife, Connie of Austin, his two grandsons, Jeffrey Cody Bell and Travis Daniel Bell, great-grandson, Trenton Bell, and his brother and sister in-law, Morgan and Tress Hardin of Odessa.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, January 20, 2008, at Shelby Chapel Cemetery with Father Jerry Pardue officiating.
Arrangements made by Gordon, Foster and Brown Funeral Home in Athens.
The family suggests memorials be made to the Buffalo Trails Council, Boy Scouts
