Lorraine Courtright of Longmont, died Monday, April 14, 2003, at Longmont United Hospital. She was 86.
She was born May 6, 1916, to LeRoy and Maud (Burtch) Springer in Lamar.
On March 15, 1936, she married Wallace Brewer. They later divorced. On June 14, 1949, she married Richard Edward Courtright in LaVeta, Colorado.
Mrs. Courtright was an assistant postmaster in LaVeta before she retired.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church in LaVeta. She also was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Colonial Dames, the LaVeta Shady Club and China Painters of Colorado. She was also a member of the Longmont Genealogical Society. She served on the LaVeta Museum Board and was a member of the Huerfano Historical Society. She enjoyed genealogy and painting china.
Lorraine was preceded in death by both of her husbands; two brothers, Roger B. Springer and LeRoy P. Springer, Jr.; two sisters, Zella Tucker and Edna Springer. She is survived by two daughters, Jacqueline Olsen (Richard N.) and Janet Dency Olsen; step-son, Richard Alan Courtright; step-daughter, Nina Francis Fidler; sister, Pauline Ball; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at noon Thursday, April 17, at the LaVeta United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Rhea Barninghan officiating. Interment will be held at the LaVeta Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Courtright's memory to the LaVeta United Methodist Church, 420 S. Main, LaVeta, 81055. Boise-Ortego Funeral Chapel in Walsenburg, Colorado is handling arrangements.
