Antoine Allain was the son of Michel Allain and Marie "Felicite" Allaire. He married Marcelline Guertain, daughter of Maurice Guertain and Marie "Marthe" Goguet, 12 Jan 1836 at St. Marie de Monnoir Rouville, Quebec.
Ten children were born to this marriage: Infant son (born and died on 2 Dec 1836), Jean Baptiste Allain (29 Sep 1838 - 29 Sep 1916), Sofia (Allain) Barsaloux (28 Feb 1840 – after 1880), Evilina Allain (born about 1841), Jean Baptiste Abraham Allain (born 18 Oct 1842), Eliza Louisa (Allain) Landry (15 May 1847 - 8 Mar 1931), Adelaide (Allain) Allard (12 May 1848 - 28 Feb 1929), Antoine Allen Jr. (28 Mar 1850 - 25 Jun 1938), and Joseph Elizear Allain (17 Aug 1854- 10 Aug 1855).
In the 1840's the government completed the survey of the land in Kankakee and Iroquois Counties of Illinois. In 1848, Antoine and his brother Ambrose Allain, having left Canada, arrived in Bourbonnais, Illinois. Two years later, they moved to the area that is now know as St. Anne, Illinois, being the first settlers of that town.
In 1872, Antoine and Marcelline migrated to Kansas with their son Antoine, Jr. and his family.
Antoine changed the spelling of Allain to Allen, as did many of the other descendents of Michel Allain. He became a United States of America naturalized citizen on 31 December 1858.
According to a copy of a funeral bill, Antoine died of old age. It also shows "a Casket for Antoine cost $35.00, washing and lying out of remains cost $5.00, and a Hearse cost $8.00". Dr. Coffee was the "Certifying Physician". The funeral bill was sent to A. E. Faucher. It gives the last residence for Antoine as 9th Street in Concordia, Kansas.
(Family stories reveal Antoine had only one leg. He always had his picture taken with his wife, Marcelline standing in front of the wooden leg that he built himself.)
In 1886, Antoine married Marie Appoline "Pauline" Beland Provanche.
