My Great Uncle, Samuel Edward Behn, was born to Leroy Behn and Lena Heard-Behn in Allen, Texas where he lived until age twelve. Afterwhich, the family moved to Tulsa Oklahoma.
While living in Texas, my Uncle had accepted christ at an early age. He was baptized at St. Mary's Baptist Church in Allen, Texas. He was also educated in Texas, and had attended and graduated from Booker T. Washington High School. After graduating from high school, he chose to attend Whiley College (Texas.
My Uncle served his country in WWII from 1943-1946, assigned to the "Pacific Campaign," against the Japanese. He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army in 1946. He was also an active member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and an active member of the Tulsa Club.
He was joined in holy matrimony to Mattie Mae in 1951.
In August my Uncle closed his eyes and said good-bye to this world and opened his eyes to a new world.
My beloved Uncle was deeply loved, and is deeply missed by numerous family, friends, co-workers and military buddies.
