Jules Menard, born in Canada, 82 years ago, died at his residence after a long illness. Moving to Taunton when he was 17 years old, he was one of the oldest French residents in this city. He was an overseer for 34 years at the Oakland Mills and later worked for Charles Alger and at Reed & Barton. He was one of the French residents of Oakland who took steps to have a French church in Taunton. He was well known and liked by all who knew him. He was married to Adelaide (Ducharme) Menard.
He was the first Menard ancestor to come from Quebec Canada to Taunton, MA.
