A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Thompsonville Cemetery in Platter for Benjamin Wells "Ben" Pendleton, 55, Denison, Texas, who died Sunday, April 2, 2006, at Texoma Medical Center. Rev. Roger Speers will officiate.
He was born Sept. 20, 1950 in Fort Worth, Texas, to Glanton Wells and Margie E. (Qualls) Pendleton. He married Marilyn Lovelace June 24, 1970 in Sherman, Texas. He attended school at Dunbar in Fort Worth, was an Army veteran during the Vietnam War, was a truck driver for most of his life and moved to Colbert in 1989. He lived in Colbert 10 years before moving to Denison in 1999.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife of the home; son Chris Pendleton and wife Mary, Cartwright; daughters Linda Carr and husband Larry, Cartwright, Patty Pruitt and husband Charlie, Pottsboro, Texas, Jamie Thomas and husband Stacy, Denison; sister Norma Jean Robson, Fort Worth; grandchildren Chasity Pendleton, Lila Schnitker, Josey Schnitker, Nickalus Duran, Tia Pruitt, Terry Pendleton, Harley Pendleton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Military graveside rights will be conducted by VFW Post 3916 of Durant with pallbearers Chris Pendleton, Charlie Pruitt, Stacy Thomas, Larry Carr, Terry Pendleton and Nickalus Duran.
