He served under Capt. Alexander Hunter as a private in the Revolutionary War. (in the Regiment of Col. James Martin.
His wifes' name was Rebecca Dalton.
They had at least 5 children:
Ann, Nathan, Sarah, Joel and Susannah.
Richard Perrin Cardwell was the 5th child born to his parents.
This cemetery is between the house at 6257 and the house at 6225 Hwy. 704 in Madison, N.C.
The 6257 house is visible from the road; the other house is farther in back of it, and the cemetery is between them in a wooded area. There is a drive that goes from the first house, past the cemetery, to the second house.
