Born November 2, 1846 in Ohio, the daughter of David H. Maurer and Anna Moyer. She married Elias K. Gardner and bore him 4 children, one daughter and 3 sons. She spent most of her life in Wayne County, Ohio and died December 4, 1928 at age 82 in Upper Mahanoy, Northumberland County, PA.
