Charlotte Houghton Sackett was the daughter of Tilley and Charlotte Dayton Houghton, born in Corinth, NY on 29 August 1864 [sic]. She came to Canandaigua as a child and lived with her aunt, Mrs. Lucy M Glasgow. She was a graduate of Granger Place School.

On 2 January 1884, Charlotte married Charles Cassort Sackett,who served on the Ontario County Board of Supervisors and also as State Assemblyman from the Town of Canandaigua, 1921-1924.

Mrs. Sackett was a member of the First Congregational Church and Women's Society. Survivors included a sister and several nieces and nephews. The couple had one child who died young (1900 census.)
