Sexton, George Harrison— Was born February 26, 1900, departed this life October 23, 1959 at the age of 59 years, 7 months, 26 days. He professed a hope in Christ and joined the Byrges Creek Baptist Church August, 1935 and lived a faithful Christian life. He was ordained as deacon September, 1945 and was Supt. of Byrges Creek Baptist Sunday School, also adult Sunday School teacher and was Clerk and Treasurer of Byrges Creek Church for some time. He was secretary and treasurer of Brotherhood Lodge 718 for a number of years. He was so faithful and loyal in all his work. He leaves to mourn his absence his wife: Vertie Mae Lloyd Sexton; two daughters, Mrs. Natomia Crowley, Ivona Sexton, both of Huntsville, Tenn.; six sons, Chester D. Sexton of Oneida, Tenn., Lester Ray Sexton of California, Thurman D. Sexton, Middletown, Ohio, Georgie Lee Sexton.
