GEORGIA KETCHUM DIES SUDDENLY
On Sunday, Oct. 5th at a hospital in St. Paul, occurred the sudden death of Georgia Josephine Ketchum, for many years a resident of this city. Her death came after an illness of but a day or two and came as a decided shock to her relatives and friends in this city. she was up here during state fair week and spend several days with her brother, Fred Cherrier and family. Since returning to her work in St. Paul she has complained off and on of not feeling very well and on Friday evening was taken very ill at the home of her aunt. She became unconscious and was immediately rushed to the hospital, dying before regaining consciousness and before relatives from here could reach her bedside. Congestion of the brain caused her death.
The remains were brought here Monday afternoon by her brother Fred and wife who were called to the city early Sunday morning and interment took place in Calvary cemetery Wednesday morning. Father Leo f the local Parish said high mass.
The pallbearers were Jos. Petschel, Jos. Heiniger {sic} Patrick Washington, J. Y. Breckenridge, John Conacker, and Albert Cherrier.
Georgia Josephine Cherrier was born in the town of Royalton, May 29, 1885, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Timothy Cherrier. Her early girlhood was spent there and she attended school there before coming to Pine City to reside and finish her education. The family came here in 1901 (from Royalton) and after several years spend in school here she went to St. Paul and later to Canada to reside. At the time her mother took sick she returned to this place and made her home with her brother Fred and family where she could care for her invalid mother. Since the death of Mrs. Cherrier she has divided her time between here and St. Paul. She leaves one brother, the remaining child of a large family and a number of cousins, among them Miss Susan Shearer and Fred Aurthbise.
