Located on the Guildford Castle grounds, the memorial was erected in honor of all whom served in World Wars I and II. The memorial has four large panels, the outer pillars contains 440 names of those local people who gave their lives in World War I. A central pillar was added to the memorial and dedicated to World War I veterans, in 1921. In 1952, four smaller panels with 202 names was added of those locals who gave their lives in World War II.
