W. J. Offenbacker Dies at Home

ELKTON, Nov. 8- William J. Offenbacker, 87, died at his home near here Saturday morning. He had been in failing health for several years.

Mr. Offenbacker was a member of the Old School Baptist Church. He was one of the oldest members of the Junior Order United American Mechanics.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Fannie Cook Offenbacker, and eight children: Mrs. Elsie Alger and Mrs. Lee LaPearl, both of Elkton; Mrs. Willie Meadows, of Luray; Mrs. Blanche Beasley, Inwood, W.Va.; Emory, Marcus and Mack Offenbacker, of Elkton. Four children preceded him in death. He leaves 38 grandchildren, 55 great-grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Mr. and Mrs. Offenbacker had recently observed their 65th wedding anniversary.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday afternoon at two o'clock from the Chapel of the Brill Funeral Home here. The Rev. C.E. Long, assisted by the Rev. Albert F. Sudduth and burial will be in the family cemetery, near Bear Lithia.
