Orville W. Crum, 81, Eldon, died Dec. 31, 1999, at St. Marys Health Center. He was born July 7, 1918, in Miller County, a son of James R. and Mary Schlesinger Crum. He was married Nov. 14, 1944, in Waukegan, Ill., to Edith I. Dona Ahart, who survives at the home.

A Navy veteran, he worked in maintenance for Modesto Irrigation District and operated a sporting goods store in Waterford, Calif., for several years. He was a member of Eldon VFW Post 2442.

Other survivors include: one brother, Ernie Crum, Turlock, Calif.; and one sister, Genevieve Glaserud, Empire, Calif.

Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday at Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon. The Rev. Randall Bunch will officiate. Burial with military honors will be in Jarrett Cemetery, Iberia. Visitation will be from 1-2:30 p.m. Monday.
