Virginia Wright, 88, went home to be with her Lord on Sunday, Sept. 19, 2010. Celebration of life: 2 p.m. Friday at First Baptist Church, Arlington. Interment: Southland Cemetery, Grand Prairie. Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Arlington Funeral Home. Virginia was born in Palacious on Aug. 23, 1922. While attending college in Canyon, she met and married a young Baptist pastor, J.H. Wright. Being a pastor's wife was Virginia's calling, and she served as the perfect helpmate for Jay in dozens of churches, including First Baptist Church of Grand Prairie for 21 years. Her graciousness, dedication and love made her a blessing to all the congregations she served. Married for 68 years, Virginia was a loving wife and mother, always devoting herself and her many talents to caring for her family and God's people. Above all, she served, loved and trusted her Lord Jesus, and her life was a testimony of God's grace. Virginia was preceded in death by one son, Johnny Wright; her mother and father; son-in-law, Don Berryhill; and brothers, Jack, Vernon and Mel Anders. Survivors: Loving husband, Dr. J.H. Wright; daughter, Joy Berryhill Heatherly and husband, Brent, of Arlington; son, Tom Wright and wife, Judy, of Grand Prairie; grandchildren, Ginger, Jay, Jena, Jayson, Lindsey, J.T. and Colton; eight great-grandchildren; and brother, Weldon Anders of Victoria.
