WWI US Navy veteran.

Enlisted 26 July 1917 in Vallejo, California and reported for duty to Mare Island, California. Sailed for foreign duty on 26 July 1917 from New York, New York on the USS Vulcan. Received a Good Character of Discharge on 25 July 1921 at the rank of Machinist's Mate First Class (Provisional).

Husband of Netta G. Pierce. In 1938, the couple lived at 5325 Loma Linda Avenue in Hollywood, California, and he worked at a cocktail lounge, The Highland House, at 1735 North Highland Avenue, Hollywood, California.

In September 1938, he applied for membership to the Hollywood American Legion Post 43, Hollywood, California and was elected on October 18, 1938. He remained a member of the Post until his death on 5 August 1950 (shot).
