Mr. Smith died Friday Morning at Jackson Madison County General Hospital after a long illness.
A native of Decatur County, he was the son of the late George L. Smith and Mary Long Smith. He made his home in Huron, Tennessee. He was a retired heavy equipment operator, a veteran of World War II, serving with the Airborne Engineers, US Army and a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
He leaves his wife Elizabeth Harris Smith of Huron, two daughters, Ann Weinberg of Jackson and Becky Smith of Los Angeles, CA., two sons Danny Smith and Tommy Smith both of Huron, a sister, Bernice Allen and a brother Paul Smith both of Jackson and seven grandchildren.
