Elsie M. Shanahan, went to be with Jesus on August 7, 2001. She passed away in her own home after a long illness with heart disease. She was an Arizona native born in Jerome, Arizona on December 26, 1907. She was 93.

Her occupation was Accounts Receivable Bookkeeper for Rudolph Chevrolet in downtown Phoenix for 10 years. She was owner and operator of 25 apartments. For 35 years she was 'The Boss' of Shanahan Masonry. Inc.

In later years, she became an avid antique doll collector plus many rare one-of-a-kind fine art pieces, like herself!

Preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, Walter Shanahan. She leaves a loving daughter, Nancy Jo Schmit, four grandchildren, four great grandchildren, also a wonderful sister-in-law Mazy K. Herring, a great niece Lena Anderson and many other friends and relatives.

A special thanks to Team E of Hospice of the Valley, Judy Liden, Joan Raines, Nancy Nichol and that extra special caregiver, Rodger. Their compassion and love saw to it that she died with dignity and in the comfort of her own home. The family suggests contributions to Hospice of the Valley will be appreciated.
