All American Football Player and NFL player, Jim Kekeris was a stand out football player and supporter of the University of Missouri. He was a was a tackle, a fullback and place kicker under coaches Don Faurot and Chauncey Simpson. He went to McKinley High School. He was All-Big Six performer in 1944, '45 and '46 and was a second-team All-American in 1946. He was chosen as the Missouri most Valuable Player in the 1945 Cotton Bowl and later was voted to the all-time Cotton Bowl team. He went on to play two seasons in the National Football League one with the Philadelphia Eagles and the other with Green Bay Packers. In 1949 He went back to his alma mater for a brief stay as an assistant coach. In 1990 when Missouri University chose it's All-Century Team as a celebration of the 100th season, He recieved honorable mention and in 1993 was inducted into Missouri University's athletic Hall of Fame.
