Louis Frederick Hopp, 88, of Belknap Township passed away Tuesday, May 13, 2008, at his home.
He was born June 9, 1919 in Belknap Township to Ervin and Dora (Reisener) Hopp. On June 24, 1957 he married Bertha Brege at St John Lutheran Church, Hagensville. Mr. Hopp loved farming and hunting, and was an honorary member of the Hagensville Hunting Club.
He is survived by his wife Bertha; two children, Donna and Robert (Connie); foster son, Dennis (Nancy) Schellie; nine grandchildren, Mathew and Lisa Schellie, Jessica and Scott Wickersham, Paige and Bryan Freed, Rebecca, Megan and Jesse Hopp; three great-children, Eric and Becca Kortman and Emma Wichersham; and many nieces and nephews and godchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ervin and Dora Hopp.
Visitation was Wednesday, May 14, at the Beck Funeral Home from 2-8 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Thursday at St. John Lutheran Church, Hagensville with Rev. Charles Schultz officiating.
Interment followed at St John Lutheran Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Sunrise Shore, St John Lutheran Church, Hagensville, or a charity of friend's choice.
