Birth: Jun. 7, 1815
Ross County
Ohio, USA
Death: Dec. 24, 1890
Bates County
Missouri, USA

Some family records have a birth date of January 9, 1815. However this is not consistent with the tombstone inscription "Died December 24 1890, aged 75 years, 6 months, and 17 days". That should make his birthdate June 7 1815.

"Philip Arganbright was born and reared in Ross County, but there was a realignment of the county boundaries placing the family homestead in Jackson Co. A later realignment placed some of the family into Vinton County" - Gerald Argabright.

Page 69 of JACKSON COUNTY OHIO MARRIAGE RECORD BOOK B, entry 712 lists the marriage of Philip and Delilah Nichols/Nicholas. Application was made there on December 14, 1836 and the marriage was performed by John Ratcliff, J.P.

He is found in Harrison township, Jackson County, Ohio in 1840 and Harrison township, Vinton County, Ohio in 1850. Sometime after 1855 - their son Thurman was born that year in Ohio - they moved to Illinois. They are found in Penn township, Stark County, Illinois on the 1860 census.

On page 163 of "Our Book, our ancestors, ourselves, and our children" by Pearly Nicholas Dixon and Rachel Maria (Kinkade) Dixon; there is the note: "Phillip Arganbright .... married Delitha Nicolas, daughter of Leonard Nicholas and Rebecca Perkins, Dutch Immigrants. The famiy lived at Wyoming, Stark County, Illinois, but removed in 1866 to Bates County, Missouri"
[Data by Mrs Martha Huffman, May 18, 1932.]

In 1870 and 1880 they are in Walnut township, Bates County, Missouri. He died there in 1890.

Philip and Delitha had 9 known children.
