Funeral services for T.L. Asher, who died Monday morning at 8 o'clock at his home in Murchison, were held Tuesday afternoon at 4 o'clock at the First Baptist Church in Murchison.
The services were conducted by the Rev. J.W. Williford of Eustace, pastor of the Murchison church, assisted by the Rev. D.R. Cartlidge, pastor of the West Athens Baptist Church.
Interment was in the Ash cemetery near Murchison.
Surviving are his wife, Clara; four daughters, Eurania, Annas, Clara John and Lois; two sons, Thomas Leslie and Richard; two sons and two daughters by his first marriage, Mrs. Earl Ward of Taft, California, Mrs. Preston Adair of Murchison, Alton Asher of Murchison and Herbert Asher of Tyler; his mother, Mrs. W.D. Asher of Murchison; a sister, Mrs. R.L. Grimes of Flint, Michigan; and four brothers, John W. Asher of Caruthersville, Mo.; M.A. Asher of Athens; N.E. Asher of Washington, D.C.; and Wayne B. Asher of Wichita Falls.
Mr. Asher was born April 28, 1880, at Dresden, Tennessee, and came to Texas in 1907. He had resided at Murchison, where he was engaged in farming, for the past 25 years.
