Anna Jane Swift Sellers was the daughter of Thomas Butler Smith and Hannah Clough.

She married Benjamin Thomas Sellers, who was Overseer for the Middleton family's plantations on the Combahee River before and during the Civil War. After the Civil War, Anna Jane Sellers eventually relocated to Charleston, where her sons William Porter Sellers and Francis Bachman Sellers raised their families.

According to her death certificate and cemetery records, Anna Jane died of arteriosclerosis at 101 Meeting Street (the home of WP Sellers). Her burial was to be held 8 Oct 1910 at Magnolia Cemetery. She is buried in the plot of Thomas Arthur Sellers, her son. Her grave is unmarked.
