HEART DISEASE CAUSES DEATH
Charles Anthony Black, 56, Succumbs At Home, 700 N. Belmont Avenue.
Funeral services for Charles Anthony Black, 56, who died at 1:30 a.m. Sunday at his home, 700 N. Belmont ave., will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the residence. Burial will be made in Ferncliff Cemetery. Heart disease was the cause of death. He had been ill for the last five weeks.
Mr. Black had been employed by the Springfield Metallic Casket Company for the past 30 years. He was a member of Springfield Lodge No. 51, Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, and was affiliated with the Springfield Chamber of Commerce.
Born in Springfield February 25, 1873, the son of Joseph K. and Mary A. Black, he had been a lifelong resident of this city, where he has always held a place of esteem among his friends.
Mr. Black leaves a widow, Edna F. Black; a son, Charles Anthony Black of this city; two brothers, James D. Black of New York, N.Y. and J. W. Black of the Murray-Black Co. of this city; and three sisters, Miss Florence Black of Springfield, Mrs. Charles E. Winters of Birmingham, Ala., and Mrs. John A. McDorman of Bloomington, Illinois.
