Barbara J. (Burkhamer) Betker was born in Beloit on March 23, 1946, daughter of Edward and Ruth (Pelton) Burkhamer. She had been employed by Freeman Shoe, Admiral Corp., Monterey Mills and SSI. Barbara was a former member of the Eagles Club, and was the ultimate caregiver, always taking care of everyone. She died at Mercy Hospital in Janesville. She is survived by her soul mate of nearly 26 years, Becky Green; four children: Brenda Lounsbury of Beloit, Rhonda (Jose) Gonzalez of Rockford, Shirley "Tinker" Nulf of Janesville, and Lenny (Denise) Betker of Beloit; seven grandchildren: Brittney, Lindsey, Bradley, Jordan, Ariana, Shawn, and Dahlton; sister, Carol (Tom) Hansen of Beloit; brother, George (Audrey) Green of Janesville; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many special friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; and four brothers: Edward, Frederick, Robert and Richard. A Visitation held on Friday, Sept. 17, 2010, at SCHNEIDER APFEL SCHNEIDER & SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME.
