Zimmerman, Ellen M. (Blohm) 74, of Machesney Park, Illinois and formerly of Shelby, passed away Sunday, Sept. 12, 2010 in her home, surrounded by her family. She was born June 7, 1936 in Shelby, the daughter of Oscar and Martha (Brychel) Blohm. She married George J. Zimmerman on July 9, 1977 in Shelby. She retired from Atwood Mobile as a heliarc welder. After retirement, Ellen worked for St. James School helping in the kitchen. She was a member of St. Bridget Catholic Church. Ellen loved crocheting, doing crossword puzzles, playing cards and bingo. She was an avid Cubs fan. Survivors include sons, Michael, Roland and Joseph; daughters, Carol, Linda, Theresa and Catherine; 13 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; sister, Elaine Tietz; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; brothers, Paul and Ernest Blohm; and her sister, Loueen Rudat. Services were Friday, Sept. 17, in Loves Park, Ill. Entombment was in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
