Actress. She was a former beauty contestant and model who caught the eye of Hollywood after appearing in "Life" magazine. While a teenager she married crooner Rudy Vallee in 1943 divorcing two years later. She was best known for her role as the seductive Kathie Moffat in "Out of the Past" which cemented her reputation as a noir vixen. In 1984 she appeared in "Against All Odds" which was a remake of "Out of the Past". In it, she played the mother of her original character. She married attorney Ed Lasker in 1947, divorced him (for philandering) in 1963 but retained his name until her recent death, using "Jane Greer" as her stage name. Frank London, an acting coach, was her companion from 1964 until his death in January 2001. (bio by: Ron Moody)
