| Birth: | unknown | | Death: | Jul. 27, 1894 |  Folk Figure. He was accused of killing St. Louis police officer James Brady at Charles Starkes' saloon at 715 North 11th Street on October 6, 1890. After a controversial trial, he was hanged at the County Court House in Clayton, Missouri. The bluegrass song "Duncan and Brady" (sometimes called "King Brady"), sung by Leadbelly, Woody Guthrie and others was written to commemorate this story. (bio by: Connie Nisinger)
