~
The home of Mr. Eugene Adams, 127 Highland Place, was threatened early Tuesday afternoon when the fire broke out near a chimney. When firemen arrived the blaze was burning briskly but was soon extinguished by the use of chemicals. A hole several feet in diameter was burned through the roof and the damage will be in the neighborhood of $50.
It is believed the fire started from a spark from the chimney. The auto engine from the Central station was the first apparatus to reach the scene and its crew did effective work. Mr. Adams is out of the city at the present time.
