A memorial service was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept 11, at Feeny United Methodist Church. Pastor Kelly Pope, Bro. Richard Rankin, Bro. Stan Lobin and Bro. Johnny Presley will officate, with Bro. Howard Herring seated with the family.
A Leake County native, he was a member of Freeny United Methodist Church, Carthage Lions Club, Leake County Republican Executive Committee, ECCC Alumni Association and Memphis BBQ Network Judge.
Survivors include his wife, Lurline Neal, Walnut Grove; a daughter Adrienne Alecia Monk; one grandchild; two sisters, Ann Freeny, Carthage, and Betty Vowell, Gulfport; and one brother H. V. Neal, Jr. of Carthage.
Honorary pallbearers will be his nephews and members of the Carthage Lion's Club.
