Timothy Kendall's father Jonathan Kendall, Jr., of Lancaster, MA, a veteran of the French and Indian War, marched at age 56 to Cambridge on the alarm of April 19, 1775. After Jonathan's death in 1777, 17-year-old Timothy served as a drummer in the regiment of Col. Nathaniel Wade in Rhode Island in 1778.
