Edward's wife,Albina Dinkel,was buried next to him, May 31,2005 at Riverside National Cemetery.

Edward was born at St. Margaret's Hospital connected with St. Anthony's Home for Children, Kansas City,MO. At 7 months old he was given up to the care & possible adoption of Joseph & Josephine (Miller) Dinkel.

Edward had an adopted sister, Mary Theresa, also born at St. Anthony's Home for Children on December 11, 1908 and given up for adoption at her birth. She was 21 years old when legally adopted, but had lived with her adopted parents, the Dinkels since she was a little girl. Mary was legally adopted by Joseph & Josephine(Miller) Dinkel in Ellis County, Kansas at the same time as younger brother, Edward Bradshaw Dinkel.

His biological mother's married name is Belva (Sturgeon) Bradshaw. His biological father's name is James Walter Bradshaw. Edward is the youngest and third son of this marriage. He was placed by the Catholic Charities Home for Children, as agreed on by his parents who were unable to care for another child. They had hopes of getting him back at some point when their capability of supporting him was possible. This never happened. Edward was legally adopted Oct. 20,1928 along with his adopted sister in Ellis, Kansas by the Dinkel's. He was 11 yrs. old at the time. His older biological brothers, Russell Dean & James Joseph Bradshaw never knew of Edward during their lives, nor did Edward know of them.
