Thomas Hendricks Sr. was the son of William H. Hendricks Sr. and Susannah (a full-blood Cherokee born in GA) both buried at Hendricks Cemetery. He had 12 brothers and sisters: James R., Annie, Jane, Margaret, John, Nancy, Susannah, Catherine, William H. Jr.,(all born in the Cherokee Nation East in GA); and three born in the Cherokee Nation, IT, OK: Willis, Franklin, and Elizabeth.

He married Nellie Ragsdale b. Sept. 22, 1839, d. 1918, (buried at Hendricks) at Park Hill, OK in 1869; their children are: Rufus, Susan "Susie", Thomas Jr., and Jane Anna (Click on: Jane Anna Chaudoin.)

He served in the 3rd Indian Home Guard, Kansas Inf. as a Pvt/Corporal on the Union Side in the Civil War. He was elected Councilor from Tahlequah District on Aug 3, 1885. He is listed on the Drennan Roll, the 1880 & 1890 Censuses Cherokee Nation; Old Settler Payroll; Dawes Roll: card# 6914, roll# 16496; Blood: 1/2 Cherokee; Occuaption: 1890, Farmer.
