Richard (Tom) Modock, 78 years old, of Elyria, went home to be with his Lord and savior Jesus Christ, with his family at his side on April 3, 2009 at EMH Regional Medical Center after a long illness. Mr. Modock was born in Pleasant
City, Ohio on March 29, 1931 and lived in Elyria most of his life.

Mr. Modock graduated from Elyria High School with the class of 1948. He played baseball for a short time with the Toledo Mudhens before joining the Air Force. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving in the Korean Conflict from 1951
to 1955 where he received the National Defense Service Medal. He was a self employed cabinet maker and carpenter by trade for many years and also worked at Ford Motor Company in Avon Lake, Ohio as a mill wright for 18 years where he retired in 1990. He was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church. Mr. Modock enjoyed woodworking, fishing and watching the Cleveland Indians.

Mr. Modock is survived by his wife, Minnie Kate Modock (nee Jordan); two daughters, Diane Gantt of Corinth, Texas and Donna (Gary) Kaminski of Elyria; one grandson, Jason Kaminski and step grandchildren; Heather, Jamie and Jimmy
Gantt of Texas and three great grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers, Basil Modock of Elyria and Ronald Modock of Grafton; two sisters,
Helen Hodge of North Ridgeville and Ann Hulin of Medina, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by two sons, Greg and Thom Modock; and his parents, Mike and Anna (nee Chippi) Modock.

Friends will be received at the Reichlin Roberts Funeral Home, 327 Cleveland Street, Elyria, Ohio 44035 on Monday from 4-7PM . Funeral Services will be held
on Tuesday at 10:00A.M. at the funeral home with theReverend Father Frank P. Kosem Pastor St. Jude Church officiating. Burial will be in Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria where the V.F.W. Post 1079 will conduct full military honors.
